How To Bet On Jets Titans – Jets Clinging To Slim Playoff Hopes Ahead Of Date With Titans On Monday Night Football
For all that the New York Jets have been through this sports betting season, it’s somewhat incredible that they are still somehow in the hunt for an AFC Wild Card spot. The Jets are two games back of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals for that final playoff position with three games to go, and with those AFC North rivals set to clash in week 16, New York could still have a shot if they win out. All three of the opponents remaining on the Jets’ schedule have a record below .500, beginning with a date at the Tennessee Titans on Monday Night Football.

NFL Betting Line: Tennessee Titans – 1.5
The Titans have lost three-straight and five of their last six to fall to 4-9, but will look to salvage what’s left of their season in the underdog role with two of their final three games at home. Two of Tennessee’s four wins came against AFC East opponents in the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins, and now the Titans go for a third as they embrace the spoiler role.
NFL Betting Preview: New York Jets
The Jets certainly haven’t made it easy on themselves despite winning three of their last four, scrounging out victories over two of the worst teams in the NFL by an average of just over three points. The Arizona Cardinals and Jacksonville Jaguars lacked the firepower to make New York pay for its mistakes, and it certainly helped that the Jets’ third-ranked pass defense was able to shut things down through the air. While Mark Sanchez continues to struggle in a starting role, the Jets have generated some offense on the ground with Shonn Greene and Bilal Powell combining to average 3.9 yards per carry for a rushing attack that ranks 12th in the NFL. Moving the ball on the ground and avoiding turnovers are the two biggest keys for this offense, something that New York has done well in consecutive weeks.
NFL Betting Preview: Tennessee Titans
The Titans have struggled to stop any of their opponents recently, dropping games against all three of their division rivals by an average of over eight points per game. While the defense ranks in the bottom-third of the league against both the run and pass, the offense hasn’t been much better despite a somewhat decent season from running back Chris Johnson. Johnson has rushed for 1,037 yards on 4.7 yards per carry, but the passing game has been inconsistent in big part due to Jake Locker’s injury troubles and Tennessee has turned the ball over far too often.
NFL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
The Jets’ defense is exactly the type that thrives on turnovers, and as long as the rushing attack is working on offense and they aren’t turning the ball over they will have a chance to win most online betting games. New York doesn’t have the firepower to go point for point with most teams, but if they can slow own Johnson and the Titans’ run game and force them to pass, they should be able to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.
