How To Bet On Patriots Bills – Angry Patriots Overwhelm Bills
New England Patriots @ Buffalo Bills – Sunday September 30, 2012 1:00PM EST
The NFL betting experts were not surprised that the Buffalo Bills beat the Cleveland Browns in week three or that the New England Patriots lost to the Baltimore Ravens. The thing did surprise the betting experts was how non-committal to the win the Buffalo Bills were. At a time in the game when Buffalo should have been racking up points and putting the Browns away, the Bills seemed to shut down and be happy with a three-point lead. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick looked nothing like a $10 million per year quarterback. The Bills seemed to be stunned by the injury to league-leading rusher C.J. Spiller early in the game. Whatever the reason, the Bills did not show the killer instinct it will need to win in the coming weeks.
The New England Patriots are not fond of losing games, but head coach Bill Belichick and his team can take a loss like professionals and move on. But when the Patriots felt cheated by the replacement refs who called a controversial last-second game-winning field goal by the Ravens good, everyone fell out of character. The sports betting world had never seen Belichick so angry that he grabbed an NFL on-field official. Replacement or not, that was an NFL referee that Belichick grabbed and that is not a good thing. Is the poor officiating by the replacement officials finally getting to Belichick? It may be, but Bill Belichick is smart enough to know that he is better off taking it out on the Bills than the refs.
Why the Bills Will Win
The Buffalo defense has found its takeaway touch again as the Cleveland quarterback Brandon Weeden was picked off twice and the Browns committed two fumbles. The betting experts suspect that Buffalo’s best chance for winning this game is to get the Patriots to commit turnovers and capitalize on those turnovers. The Bills beat the Patriots last season by getting Tom Brady to turn the ball over, and the same thing could happen this week.
Why the Patriots Will Win
The best thing about the New England Patriots is the team’s ability to stick to its format and sustain a winning culture no matter what. When wide receiver Randy Moss spoke publicly about his contract issues with New England, he was gone within weeks. Wide receiver Wes Welker was complaining about his contract prior to this season, and the Patriots look to be phasing him out of the offense. The Patriots is a machine, and Tom Brady is the guy that controls that machine. Despite an injury to tight end Aaron Hernandez, the Patriots have been able to keep the offense going. The defensive problems the Patriots have been having this season may not be an issue if Buffalo running backs Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller are both out with injuries.
The Bottom Line
The Buffalo Bills have so much faith in its new defensive line that it no longer blitzes. While blitzing Tom Brady can be risky, it may also be the only chance the Bills have at winning this game.Pick: New England Patriots
