How To Bet On Steelers Eagles – Eagles Welcome Steelers In Preseason Clash Of State Rivals
Last year the Philadelphia Eagles failed to live up to their status as the NFL version of the “Dream Team”, struggling out of the gate and then finishing strong just to reach 8-8. This offseason Eagles’ quarterback Michael Vick has talked about the possibility of his team becoming a dynasty, as in winning multiple championships. The biggest problem with that of course, is that Philadelphia hasn’t won anything yet, and will first have to escape the same division as the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants. The Eagles open up their preseason schedule at home against the state rival Pittsburgh Steelers, who actually have reached three of the past seven Super Bowls, including winning two. Unlike in Philadelphia, there is no talk of a dynasty in Pittsburgh, so maybe Vick and company should take some online sportsbook notes.

NFL Betting Line: Philadelphia Eagles – 2
A return to the Super Bowl for the fourth time in eight years is the goal for the Steelers this season, but as far as head coach Mike Tomlin is concerned all that matters is the next game. The last time the black and yellow walked off the field was after a shocking overtime loss to the Denver Broncos in the AFC Wild Card round, so you better believe they can’t wait to get back on the gridiron.
NFL Betting Preview: Pittsburgh Steelers
Pittsburgh will remember that loss to Tim Tebow and the Broncos, but it isn’t as though it will need any more motivation than it already has going in to this season. The Steelers used their first two picks to upgrade the offensive line, and while quarterback Ben Roethlisberger isn’t likely to see much time in this game, the rookies will get a chance to showcase their skills in front of Byron Leftwich. With Mike Wallace holding out, Emmanuel Sanders and Jerricho Cotchery will get the chance to prove to management that the team doesn’t need to bend and give in to the Steelers’ top deep threat.
NFL Betting Preview: Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles won four-straight a year ago to finish with a .500 record, and anything less than a playoff spot will be a major disappointment this season. Philadelphia addressed its front-seven with the addition of defensive tackle Fletcher Cox and linebacker Mychal Kendricks in the first two rounds, and both should see lots of action in this opener. The Eagles added substantial depth in a variety of areas including at quarterback where Trent Edwards will back up Vick. Edwards has starting experience, and will get the opportunity to showcase what he can do in this game.
NFL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
This game should mean more to the Eagles for several reasons. First of all, they are playing at home in front of their fans against a state rival. Second, Philadelphia hasn’t had nearly the same success as the Steelers, and should be motivated to get the win regardless of what it means to the outlook for the sports betting season. Edwards and rookie quarterback Nick Foles will be asked to move the ball through the air effectively and efficiently, and quarterback depth could make the biggest difference in this game.
