NFC North Rival Lions, Bears Clash With Top Spot Up For Grabs
The Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears are two of the three teams tied for top spot in the NFC North heading in to this weekend’s online sports betting rivalry game. Of those three teams, the Lions are the only one with a healthy starting quarterback. Detroit will look to capitalize on those favorable circumstances when it takes the field this Sunday, as Matt Stafford and the Lions can move in to sole possession of first place in the division. Jay Cutler is expected to get the start for Chicago despite a groin injury that was expected to keep him out at least a week longer, although it will be interesting to see if he gets the nod closer to game time considering the long-term outlook and how well Josh McCown played in the Monday night win over the Green Bay Packers.

NFL Sports Betting News: Detroit -2
McCown threw for 272 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the 27-20 win, and his performance had to inspire a level of confidence from the coaching staff. The Bears can’t afford for Cutler to come back too soon and aggravate his existing injury or worse, leave himself vulnerable to another injury, so they could opt to go with McCown at some point.
NFL Betting Preview: Detroit Lions
The Lions’ defense will certainly be looking to rough up whoever starts under center for Chicago, and they will have had the full two weeks to rest and prepare coming off their bye week. Detroit didn’t register a single sack in its 31-30 win over the Dallas Cowboys, but they will be looking to do a better job in a tough match up this week. Matt Stafford enjoyed another big moment in the win over Dallas, pushing the ball over the goal line for the winning one-yard score. He also threw for 488 yards and a touchdown, overcoming the two interceptions he threw. The Detroit defense didn’t force a single turnover in the win, marking one of the rare times a team wins a game despite a minus-four turnover differential. The Lions will look to avoid those mistakes this week, and if they do then they should be able to win the game.
NFL Betting Preview: Chicago Bears
Chicago didn’t have a turnover in the win over Green Bay, and that could very well have been the difference in the victory. The Bears rallied with a strong performance from McCown and running back Matt Forte, who ran for 125 yards and a touchdown in the win. Chicago has the weapons on offense to move the ball both through the air and on the ground, and McCown certainly proved he could handle the starting job last week. The defense also stepped up with four sacks and an interception, and will need another big game at home this week in order to help get the online betting win regardless of who is under center for the Bears.
NFL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
Detroit is rested and has the advantage of its starting quarterback being at full strength, but they will be in tough on the road as this NFC North rivalry resumes. The Bears will have a capable starter regardless of whether it’s McCown or Cutler, and as long as they don’t turn the ball over they will have a good chance at coming out on top of what should be another close game at home.
