Lions Eagles Betting Tips – Eagles Look To Avoid Costly Turnovers Versus Visiting Lions
The Philadelphia Eagles have been plagued by the same problem in each of their two losses. If they can find a way to avoid turning the ball over, they should have a strong chance to take down the visiting Detroit Lions this Sunday at home. The 3-2 Eagles are coming off a tough sports betting loss in the Keystone State rivalry game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, falling 16-14 in a game in which they fumbled twice including once on the opponent’s one-yard line. Philadelphia leads the NFL in turnovers through five weeks, but as we saw with a win over the New York Giants just two weeks ago, this is a team that can win big games if they can just protect the football.

NFL Betting Line: Philadelphia Eagles – 5.5
The Lions have had some similar issues during a 1-3 start, but should be prepared for this game following their bye week. A lack of discipline on either side of the ball has once again been a problem for Detroit, which is now at risk of becoming lost in the shuffle in a crowded NFC North division.
NFL Betting Preview: Detroit Lions
After opening the season with a close win over the St. Louis Rams, the Lions have now dropped three-straight including both of their games on the road. Ending that slide will come down to executing on offense and capitalizing on the chance to force turnovers against a quarterback that leads the NFC in giveaways in Michael Vick, the only real weapon to help limit what the Philadelphia offense can do. On offense, the combination of Matt Stafford and Calvin Johnson isn’t as hot as it was a year ago with injuries part of the reason why, but Detroit is coming off a bye so they should be fine for this Sunday.
NFL Betting Preview: Philadelphia Eagles
Another two fumbles by Vick cost the Eagles against Pittsburgh, including a crucial giveaway on the one-yard line early in the first quarter that helped set the tone for the game. Philadelphia’s offense ranks in the top-five in the NFL in total yards, but they aren’t nearly as high in scoring offense thanks to all of the giveaways. As we saw a couple of weeks ago against the Giants, winning will come down to executing on both sides of the ball and not turning it over. The Eagles’ defense has been among the most underrated units so far this season, but will face a very tough test against Johnson and the Lions’ passing attack.
NFL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
The Eagles have been one of the few NFL teams that have either won or had the chance to win every game in the fourth quarter, and it’s very likely this will be another close game. While Philadelphia has all of the weapons to win this game as well as home field advantage, 5.5 points is too much to give for a team that has not won by more than two points so far this online sportsbook season.
