Lions Jaguars Betting Tips – Lions Look To Claw Way Back To .500 Versus Jacksonville
The Detroit Lions battled hard to come back and beat the Seattle Seahawks in a matchup of NFC playoff contenders last weekend at home. A trip south to face one of the worst teams in the NFL should make things a lot easier on them. The Lions travel to face the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday with a chance to climb back to .500 on the line, and considering the way that the Jaguars have struggled so far this season, it should only be a matter of time before they get back to that online sportsbook mark.

NFL Betting Line: Detroit Lions – 3.5
Four-straight losses has pushed the Jaguars in to a tie for the worst record in the NFL at 1-6, and an injury to running back Maurice Jones-Drew won’t help. Jacksonville has struggled in nearly every way on both sides of the ball this season, and have yet to win a game at home.
NFL Betting Preview: Detroit Lions
The Lions finally got it going with three touchdowns in the final 25 minutes of their comeback win over the Seahawks this past week, and will now get the chance to clinch back-to-back wins for the first time this season. Detroit had a gutsy performance in its last road game at Philadelphia, another comeback in which they won 26-23 in overtime. Quarterback Matt Stafford was in on all three of those late touchdowns for the Lions last week, including one rushing and two passing to Titus Young. The Detroit defense has struggled against the run so far, but rank in the top-10 against the pass.
NFL Betting Preview: Jacksonville Jaguars
Whether or not the Jaguars can take advantage of the Lions’ run defense in this game will be among the key storylines to keep an eye on, as Rashad Jennings is set to get another start in favor of the injured Jones-Drew. Quarterback Blaine Gabbert is also expected to miss another week due to injury, and while Jacksonville managed to secure wide receiver Mike Williams in a trade this week, his impact will be minimal in his first week with the team. Chad Henne will once again start in place of the injured Gabbert, and if the running game stalls it will be on the veteran passer to provide the offense with a spark.
NFL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
There aren’t many sports betting teams that the majority of players would play against with the Lions favored by 3.5, but in this case it makes too much sense to ignore. Jacksonville is one of the worst teams in the NFL this season, and with Detroit looking to claw its way back in to the playoff race, they should be able to take care of business on the road.
