Best Week 13 NFL Underdogs To Bet On
With a few high-profile division rivals facing off this week there are plenty of appealing sports betting lines. Some are games with a spread near even, but others are handing out points to quality football teams with a solid chance at victory. The Oakland Raiders were able to secure their first victory of the season last week, and they're still one of my favorite football picks along with the other two franchises listed below.
Philadelphia Eagles +3
An up-tempo offense makes the Philadelphia Eagles one of the most explosive team's in the league, which as a result makes them a smart sports betting pick when receiving any amount of points. This week they'll be taking on the Dallas Cowboys, a squad that began the year hot but then went 1-2 heading into their Week 11 bye. After taking on the New York Giants last Sunday night, and narrowing winning, the Cowboys must now face an Eagles squad that scored 43 points last week because of a resurgence from LeSean McCoy and a running game that totaled 164 yards on the day. Mark Sanchez had what could be called a solid outing with 307 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions on the day, but the bottom line is the Eagles should have a similar outing this Thursday as they did against the Tennessee Titans last week.
Seattle Seahawks +2
The Seattle Seahawks defense manhandled the Arizona Cardinals and Drew Stanton last Sunday and will now move onto another division rival in the San Francisco 49ers. The Niners have won three in a row, but all three have been by six points or less and came against three team's all below .500. The Seahawks on the otherhand have won four out of their last five with their only loss coming by four points at the hand of the Kansas City Chiefs. The Seahawks have finally found a balance between the pass and run this season which has allowed Russell Wilson to throw for 2,230 yards and 14 touchdowns as well as run for another 644 and four scores. Colin Kaepernick has put up similar but not as spectacular numbers this season and the 49ers run game has averaged just 4.0 yards per carry this season, compared to the Seahawks who average a league leading 5.4. The Seahawks have rebounded nicely from their poor start to the season, and even on the road this week should pick up their eighth victory of the season.
Oakland Raiders +7
The Oakland Raiders get a whole touchdown against the St. Louis Rams this week which may be needed as the Rams narrowly lost to the San Diego Chargers last Sunday after beating the Denver Broncos the week prior. The Raiders however are coming off their first victory of the season as they beat the Chiefs by a score of 24-20 on Thursday night. Not only do they have the momentum of their only victory pushing them ahead, but they also get an extra three days of rest and prep this week and are going up against a Rams offense that has seemingly taken a step back since Shaun Hill was named the starter under center. The Raiders are still one of the worst team's in the league, but they're getting betting on both sides of the football and have an offensive line that should be able to protect Derek Carr and help him achieve his fourth 200-yard passing performance.
