Brady, Patriots Look To Repay Colts In Their First Meeting Since Deflategate
The New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts are set to meet for the first time since the AFC Championship game on Sunday Night Football in Week 6. It’s safe to say that the Patriots will be looking to repay the Colts for what has transpired in the months since. It was after New England’s 45-7 win over Indianapolis that the word quickly spread around the league that the Colts had complained about the air pressure in the Patriots footballs during the AFC Championship game, leading to national outrage, a fine for the team and a four-game suspension for Tom Brady. However, the four-time Super Bowl champion had his suspension overturned by a federal judge and since then New England has taken the league by storm with their best start in franchise history. Now Brady and the Patriots will turn their attention to the Colts and there might not be a number big enough to expect Indianapolis to cover with the entire football world watching their prime time showdown.

NFL Betting Line: New England -8
It won’t help the Colts that they will likely be without star quarterback Andrew Luck once again as he continues to deal with an injured shoulder. Even if Luck is to play he will not be at full strength and with Matt Hasselbeck coming off consecutive wins since taking over in Week 4 there is a good chance he starts again. Hasselbeck has thrown for 495 yards and three touchdowns in two wins but the key to his success has been the fact that he hasn’t turned the football over. The fact that the Colts still needed overtime to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars by a field goal at home and then barely survived a trip south with a 27-20 win over the Houston Texans is somewhat telling and they will certainly face a much tougher test this week against New England. The Patriots have averaged 37.25 points per game during their 4-0 start with an average margin of victory of 18.25 including consecutive blowout wins over the Jaguars and Dallas Cowboys. New England has been even better in its last four games against Indianapolis in the Luck era, going 4-0 while averaging 47.0 points per game with an average margin of victory of 29.0 points. LaGarrette Blount and the Patriots ground game has absolutely cashed the Colts defense but Brady has looked like a man on a mission early on this season and he will likely want to repay them personally for what he has had to deal with over the past few months. Brady has completed 72.5-percent of his passes for 1,387 yards and 11 touchdowns without an interception through four games and he could record his best performance of the season against Indianapolis under the bright lights of Sunday Night Football.
Pick: New England -8
The Patriots are going to put up points in bunches and that is a big reason why the number is as high as it is for betting the total even though there is a good chance that Luck misses this game. The Colts know exactly what they are in store for this weekend and while they might not score enough points to cover they should be able to score enough to push this game over the total.
