Predictions For Betting On Browns Raiders – Raiders Look To Snap Five-Game Slide At Home Versus Browns
The Oakland Raiders need to sweep the five games remaining on their sports betting regular season schedule just to finish with a .500 record. The Cleveland Browns are in an identical position, but may be a little bit more optimistic about their position after they knocked off the AFC North rival Pittsburgh Steelers in week 12. The Browns visit Oakland in a matchup of non-contenders this Sunday, and while neither team has a realistic shot at making the postseason, each are looking to finish strong and set the tone for next year.

NFL Betting Line: Pick ‘em
While Cleveland football fans can be excited about the potential of a roster building around a solid young core, things seem to be getting worse for the Raiders with each passing week. The silver and black have lost five-straight contests, and will play out the home portion of their schedule with three-straight games at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum before heading on the road for their final two contests.
NFL Betting Preview: Cleveland Browns
The Browns’ defense looked dominant against an injury-riddled Steelers’ offense, forcing eight turnovers in last week’s 20-14 win, including five forced fumbles and three interceptions. While those numbers cannot be expected every week from any team, Cleveland is moving in the right direction on that side of the ball with cornerback Joe Haden leading the way. Things could be more complicated on the offensive side of the ball this week if rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden cannot play. Weeden threw for 158 yards and a touchdown before suffering a concussion late in the fourth quarter of the win over Pittsburgh, which could mean Colt McCoy gets the start. Fellow rookie, running back Trent Richardson rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown last week despite being held to 2.9 yards per carry, and has gotten better when it comes to attacking vertically and absorbing contact as the season has progressed.
NFL Betting Preview: Oakland Raiders
One of the most surprising parts about the Raiders’ lack of success this season is that Carson Palmer has led the league’s eighth-ranked passing attack, averaging 273 passing yards per game. However, Palmer has also thrown 12 interceptions and has six fumbles, and turnovers have been a problem for the offense all year. Making matters worse is Oakland’s inability to stop anyone on defense, as they rank in the bottom-third in the NFL against both the run and the pass. The Raiders are going to need to do a better job up front against the Browns defensively, while avoiding the turnovers that have cost them this season on the offensive side of the ball.
NFL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
While Cleveland has been the better team of the two of late, the Raiders have lost five-straight and are looking to finish strong with their final three home games coming up over the next three online betting weeks. Oakland has too much talent to be this bad, and the defense should play better this week, particularly if Weeden is unable to go for the Browns.
