Predictions For Betting On Jets Dolphins – Dolphins Fall At Home To Jets
New York Jets @ Miami Dolphins – Sunday September 23, 2012 1:00PM EST
When the New York Jets destroyed the Buffalo Bills in week one of the 2012 NFL season, the betting websites learned that the Jets can probably win the games that the team is supposed to win. When the Jets were destroyed by the Pittsburgh Steelers in week two of the 2012 NFL season, the experts learned that the Jets cannot beat the more prominent teams in the NFL. With that kind of betting system in place, it makes picking this week three game against the Dolphins difficult. At this point, no one is really sure how to categorize the young Miami team. It is certainly not prominent, but it is also showing signs of being at least competitive.
The football betting experts were a bit surprised when the Miami Dolphins beat the Oakland Raiders in week two to grab an early share of the AFC East divisional lead. Before Miami fans get too excited, it is a good idea to keep in mind that every team in the AFC East is 1-1 and has a share of the lead. But the Dolphins are playing division rival New York this week and are presented with a chance to start giving itself tiebreakers when the season comes to an end. With rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill showing signs of promise, the Dolphins are going to be a little more difficult to deal with than the Jets may think.
New York Jets
The sport betting world still has no idea why the Jets insist on sticking with Tim Tebow. The Jets use Tebow as the protector on punts, as a wildcat quarterback, a wide receiver and a running back. They have not let Tebow throw the ball yet, but he has been put into the game at a time when Mark Sanchez was just building up momentum. Despite poor game planning, the Jets are 1-1 and New York probably has what it needs to be a young Miami team. But if the Jets keep trying to mess around with its game plan just to get Tebow on the field, the better teams in the league will make New York pay.
Things do look bright for the future in Miami. Ryan Tannehill is giving every indication that he will be a good starting NFL quarterback and running back Reggie Bush is running like a man possessed. The problem for the Dolphins is that it has not played a defense like the one in New York yet this season. The Jets know how to pressure a quarterback and the Jets also know how to score on defense. That should be enough of a difference in this game for the Jets to win.
The Bottom Line
All the Dolphins need is time to play together at the NFL level. This is a talented football team that can win games. But the learning process is going to be painful for the players and the fans.
Pick: New York Jets
