Raiders Broncos Betting – Broncos Avenge 2010 Rout With Win Over Raiders
Sports betting players watched Oakland go into Denver and annihilate the Broncos last season, which spelled the beginning of the end for their head coach. The Broncos have a new coach, and they’re fully healthy as they prepare to host the Raiders in the second half of Monday night’s doubleheader to kick off the 2011 season, and you can expect Denver to get their revenge.

Why Bet On Oakland Raiders
Oakland quarterback Jason Campbell will have the same offensive coordinator two years in a row for the first time in his career, so we should be able to give a proper assessment of him. Look for the Raiders to open up the playbook a bit more now that Campbell is comfortable, but they don’t have to lean on him completely if running back Darren McFadden can have the type of season he had last year, finally fulfilling the potential of a top-five pick. The Raiders’ front seven is solid with Richard Seymour coming off the end and Kamerion Wimbley playing the role of a rush linebacker, and Rolando McClain should continue to improve into one of the NFL’s best middle linebackers.
But the Raiders have to find a way to replace Nmandi Asomugha, arguably the best cover corner in the league who left for Philadelphia. Oakland never had to worry about one side of the field with Asomugha out there, and no one player is going to replace him. The Raiders also have a new coordinator in Chuck Bresnahan after Rob Ryan left for Dallas, so it’ll be interesting what he comes up with, and how the players react to him. Finally, Campbell won’t have wideout Louis Murphy (hamstring) and tight end Kevin Boss (knee), who was brought in from the New York Giants. Hue Jackson, who is going into his first season as a head coach, has some decisions to make.
Why Bet On Denver Broncos
Head coach John Fox came into Denver having to deal with a quarterback controversy that settled itself as Kyle Orton is far and away the best quarterback that the Broncos have (even if they tried to trade him in the offseason). Brady Quinn is next, which means Tim Tebow may be on his last legs at Mile High. But with Orton in tow, the offense can be explosive as Brandon Lloyd came out of nowhere to lead the NFL in receiving yards, but now he has to prove that he can do it again. Knowshon Moreno has to provide some balance out of the backfield, and Willis McGahee is in town to push the former first-round pick. Defensively, the Broncos should be better than last year as Elvis Dumervil appears to be recovered from a pectoral injury that sidelined him for all of 2010, while rookie Von Miller was a monster in the preseason; the Broncos should have one of the NFL’s best pass rushes. Champ Bailey is back to marshal the secondary, but keep an eye on rookie safety Rahim Moore, who made headlines for some big hits in the preseason.
Denver’s NFL betting odds are based on the team’s ability to improve defensively as the Broncos were the worst team in the league on that side of the ball, and linebacker D.J. Williams, who led the team in tackles in 2010, is out for 3-4 weeks because of a dislocated elbow. Also, Lloyd will see a lot of double-teams as the Broncos don’t have much else at receiver unless Eddie Royal can get back to his rookie-season level.
How It Will Play Out
The Broncos are a 3-point NFL betting favorite at home, but the Raiders aren’t afraid to go to Mile High, where they are 3-2 SU and 5-0 ATS in their last five meetings, including last year’s 59-10 destruction. The Broncos will surely use that game as motivation, like they really need any more against their bitter division rivals.
Denver is going to come out with some fire in this game due to that humiliation, and they will come away with the victory on Monday night as the Raiders don’t have anyone to cover Lloyd, and that means Orton could have a big day. The Broncos’ major worry is slowing down McFadden, because we’re still not totally sold on Campbell and the Oakland offense.
