Colts Look To Avoid Early Hole With Struggling Rams In Town This Sunday
The Indianapolis Colts overcame an 18-point deficit en route to a huge online sports betting comeback win over the AFC South-rival Houston Texans on Sunday Night Football last week. They won’t be under the bright lights this week, but they should have an easier time at home. The Colts will host a St. Louis Rams’ team that has lost three-straight for the second time this year to fall to 3-6 on the season. Indianapolis has a two-game lead on the Tennessee Titans for first place in the AFC South, and will have to avoid getting caught looking ahead to next week’s showdown at LP Field.

The Rams’ lone road win came against Houston almost a month ago, and head coach Jeff Fisher would relish the opportunity to score a key win against a team from the division he once coached in. The Colts will play three of their following four games on the road and cannot afford to slip up at home, especially with two of their next three against the Titans.
NFL Betting Preview: St. Louis Rams
An injury to starting quarterback Sam Bradford has taken its toll on St. Louis, which was outscored 21-7 over the final 20 minutes of regulation in last week’s 28-21 loss to Tennessee. Kellen Clemens threw for 210 yards and a touchdown, but he completed just six yards per pass and it wasn’t enough in a game in which the defense eventually broke. Rookie running back Zac Stacy has established his self as a legitimate threat after rushing for 127 yards on 27 carries with two touchdowns against the Titans, and he has averaged 4.6 yards per touch this season. The Rams lack the type of explosive vertical game to keep up with some of the better teams in the league, which means they can’t afford to turn the ball over and fall behind early on as the visiting team this week.
NFL Betting Preview: Indianapolis Colts
Indianapolis scored 21-unanswered points to complete its comeback win over the Texans, but certainly would like to avoid those situations going forward. Andrew Luck added another fourth-quarter comeback to his already impressive resume, but he completed just 18 of his 40 pass attempts for 271 yards and three scores. Getting over the fact that he was playing his first game without Reggie Wayne was important, and it certainly helped that TY Hilton stepped up with seven catches for 121 yards and three touchdowns, each of which came in the second half. The rapport between Luck and Hilton will be key the rest of the way, even with the league’s 12th-ranked rushing attack helping out. The Colts’ defense has been able to dig in and hold its own when it has had to, and this week will represent another quality test at home.
NFL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
Indianapolis pulled out another impressive online betting comeback last week to establish a two-game lead in the AFC South, and now they have the potential to build on that record following a 3-1 start at home. The Colts understand how key it will be to lock down one of the top two AFC seeds and home advantage for the playoffs, so look for them to build on the momentum from last week’s finish and score a big home win over a Rams’ team that continues to struggle.
