Ravens Seahawks Betting – Baltimore Keeps Rolling With Win In Seattle
Sports betting players have to start taking Baltimore seriously if they weren’t already, and one thing that Super Bowl contenders do is beat bad teams. The Ravens will be in Seattle this week, and while the time change may cause a slow start, they’ll eventually squeeze the life out of the lowly Seahawks.

Why Bet On Baltimore Ravens (6-2 SU, 5-3 ATS)
Joe Flacco found Torrey Smith from 26 yards out with eight seconds left in a 23-20 victory in Pittsburgh, and it was a typically hard-hitting affair in another edition of the best rivalry in the NFL (the Ravens’ Ray Lewis, along with two Steelers, were fined after the game for hits). Flacco was 28-of-47 for 300 yards and a score, and he also lost a fumble, while Ray Rice was held to 43 yards on the ground, but he found the end zone for the Ravens. The defense allowed 70 rushing yards, while forcing a pair of turnovers and even though Ben Roethlisberger threw for 330 yards and a score, he was picked off once and completed 20 of his 37 passes as the Ravens were in his face. Baltimore lost a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter, but they never panicked in a hostile environment and the Ravens have to be considered a legitimate NFL betting threat for the Super Bowl.
Guard Ben Grubbs (toe) may have aggravated an injury against the Steelers, while receiver Lee Evans (ankle) barely made it through practice on Wednesday and that decision will be made much closer to gametime. The Ravens don’t really need Evans against Seattle, and their biggest concern this week will be to avoid complacency. This is the definition of a trap game, but Baltimore is a veteran team and should be able to regain their focus, although they could get off to a slow start, especially on offense.
Why Bet On Seattle Seahawks (2-6 SU, 4-3-1 ATS)
Tarvaris Jackson was picked off three times in a 23-13 loss in Dallas, and the Seahawks also committed 10 penalties; making those type of mistakes is always a quick way to find yourself in the “loss” column, especially when you’re not that talented of a football team. Jackson was 17-of-30 for 221 yards and he never found the end zone, and with a passer rating of 40.4, it was his worst performance of the season. The saving grace was Marshawn Lynch, who ran for 135 yards and a touchdown, but he’ll be hard-pressed to repeat those type of numbers against the No.2 defense in the NFL. The defense tried their best to keep the team in the game and they stopped the Cowboys on two of three trips to the red zone, but they still allowed 442 yards, including 163 on the ground.
Jackson (pectoral) wasn’t 100% heading into the Dallas game, but even when he’s completely healthy, Jackson just isn’t a good quarterback. But Charlie Whitehurst is the backup and he’s no better; Seattle would have better off staying with Matt Hasselbeck, who is playing well in Tennessee. Receiver Sidney Rice (foot) hasn’t practiced this week, but he should be able to play, albeit at less than 100%. That’s not good news for Seattle as they’re going up against a defense that would give them trouble at the best of times. Unless Lynch manages to find some holes early, it’s going to be a long day for the offense. The 16th-ranked defense will be counted on to hold the Baltimore offense in check because the Seahawks are definitely going to have trouble scoring on the Ravens.
How It Will Play Out
Baltimore is favored by 6.5 points on the road in Seattle according to NFL betting odds, and this is the third time these two have met since 1997, with the Ravens holding a record of 2-1 SU and 1-1-1 ATS. Two of the games have gone over the posted total, but the under came in the Ravens’ last visit to Seattle, which ended in a 27-6 victory for the Seahawks in 2007.
It may take the Ravens a little time to get going as it usually does for a team in the East travelling to the West, but they should be able to show their dominance and cruise to victory over the Seahawks. The defense will do their part and shut down the Seattle offense, while the offense will slowly wear down their opposition. Go with the Ravens to cover the online betting spread this week.
