Redskins Cowboys Betting Predictions – Cowboys, Redskins Still Believe In Postseason Chances Heading In To Thanksgiving Showdown
A rough sports betting stretch through which the Dallas Cowboys lost four of five games left them on the outside looking in to the NFC playoff picture just past the midway point in the NFL season. Back-to-back wins combined with consecutive losses for the NFC East-leading New York Giants has the Cowboys right back in the hunt. Dallas is just one game back of the division lead heading in to their tilt with the Washington Redskins this Thanksgiving Thursday, and a favorable schedule that includes just one team with a record better than .500 the rest of the way has Cowboys’ fans suddenly thinking this team has what it takes to make a legitimate run to the postseason.

NFL Betting Line: Dallas Cowboys – 3.5
The Redskins are another team that hasn’t given up hope in the NFC East, particularly because four of their final six games are against division opponents. Washington snapped a three-game losing streak with a 31-6 win over one of those rivals when they hosted the Philadelphia Eagles last week, and the combination of a win against Dallas and a Giants’ loss to Green Bay Packers the this week would set up a game against New York with the division on the line the following Monday night.
NFL Betting Preview: Washington Redskins
Rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III was nearly perfect in Washington’s win over the Eagles, torching them for 200 yards and four touchdowns while hooking up on 14 of his 15 pass attempts. RGIII also rushed for 84 yards, and most importantly did not turn the ball over, which was a stark contrast to the three takeaways the Redskins’ defense registered. Washington’s offense will face a tougher test this week against a Dallas defense that ranks sixth in the NFL in passing yards allowed, and will need a strong performance from running back Alfred Morris and the rushing attack to remained balanced. The defense has struggled all season keeping opponents off the board, but will provide a huge boost if they can continue to force turnovers this week.
NFL Betting Preview: Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys nearly let another opportunity get away in last week’s win over the Browns, trailing 13-0 at halftime before their offense finally got going, then trailing 20-17 late in the fourth quarter after allowing a touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Dallas managed to force overtime and seal the win in the extra frame, but will need to be much more consistent to have any chance at competing for a postseason spot. Tony Romo passed for 313 yards and a touchdown, but he was sacked a career-high seven times and his fumble late in the fourth quarter led to a late score that put Cleveland ahead. Dallas has shown that they can compete with any team as long as it doesn’t turn the ball over, but that hasn’t been easy at any point so far this season.
NFL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
This NFC East rivalry is always competitive regardless of the standings, but the fact that a win will be crucial for both teams in an attempt to keep their playoff hopes alive will add to the intensity. While the Redskins haven’t been consistent this season, neither have the Cowboys. 3.5 points is a lot to give either team in what should be a very close sportsbook game, so it makes sense to take the points in this Thanksgiving spot.
