Saints Texans Betting – Saints Look To Make Their Mark Down In Houston
It didn’t take long after Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints’ offense got going for the team to eventually make a Super Bowl run, and after building in the right direction over the past couple of seasons, the Houston Texans feel as though this could be the year that it is their turn. The Texans added a couple of key defensive pieces to compliment one of the game’s most dynamic offenses this season, and will look to continue to build towards becoming a playoff team as the preseason continues with week two.

NFL Betting Lines: Houston Texans - 2
Three years after their Super Bowl win, the Saints have just as good of a chance as any other team to get back to the big game. New Orleans bulked up in the offseason with the addition of rookie running back Mark Ingram and defensive tackles Shaun Rogers and Aubrayo Franklin, and the sports betting moves are already paying off.
NFL Betting Preview: New Orleans Saints
Ingram rushed for 23 yards and a touchdown on six carries as the Saints opened their preseason schedule against the San Francisco 49ers, and is likely to have an active role in the backfield with Pierre Thomas and Darren Sproles as the third-down back to replace the departed Reggie Bush. Drew Brees played only one series in that win over San Francisco but could play an entire quarter against Houston as he continues to get acclimated with his weapons, while the defense will look to parlay their solid effort in the 24-3 win at home. Everything on the defense begins with that revamped line, and so far things are looking very good for New Orleans.
NFL Betting Preview: Houston Texans
The addition of cornerback Jonathon Joseph was the most significant that the Texans made, as they finally got that cover corner that can line up against an opponent’s No. 1 receiver. The pressure will still come from up front with Mario Williams and company wreaking havoc on the defensive line, while the offense continues to move the ball with a solid balance of pass and run. Week one of the preseason saw the quarterbacks take over in a 20-16 win over the New York Jets as backups Matt Leinart and TJ Yates both had solid outings, but look for starter Matt Schaub to become more involved in preseason week two action.
NFL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
The Saints are marching, and while Houston has made some key sports betting bonus additions in the offseason, they still have a lot of work to do. Brees will get into a rhythm early on before handing the ball off to the running game the rest of the way, as head coach Sean Payton looks to continue to execute fundamentals as New Orleans makes a statement this preseason.
