Steelers Raiders Betting Predictions – Steelers Look To Build On Momentum At Winless Raiders Week Three
The Pittsburgh Steelers managed to rebound from a week one loss with a 27-10 win over the New York Jets in week two, a victory that came without two of their best defensive players in safety Troy Polamalu and linebacker James Harrison. With the possibility that both could return to the lineup in time for this Sunday’s game against the winless Oakland Raiders, the Steelers have to be feeling positive about putting together back-to-back wins. Oakland has lost each of its first two games by at least eight points, and it seems as though the same troubles with costly penalties and mental errors continues to plague this sports betting team even under new head coach Dennis Allen.

NFL Betting Line: Pittsburgh Steelers – 4.5
The Raiders have actually done a lot of things right on both sides of the ball, but it is the big mistakes that have cost them through the first two weeks. Pittsburgh is one of the top teams in the NFL when it comes to execution, so Oakland won’t have much room for error as they shoot to give Allen his first win once again.
NFL Betting Preview: Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers bounced back strong from a week one loss to Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos by committing to the game plan on both sides of the ball and executing to near perfection through the final three quarters against the Jets. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw for 275 yards and two touchdowns in the win, and the running back tandem of Jonathan Dwyer and Isaac Redman were finally able to get something going on the ground. The Pittsburgh defense did a much better job of stopping the run and forcing the quarterback to throw the ball under pressure after being picked apart by Manning in the opener, and this group will have studied plenty of tape to find out the best way to get after Raiders’ quarterback Carson Palmer.
NFL Betting Preview: Oakland Raiders
Palmer has averaged 47 pass attempts through the first two games of the season, a clear indication that the balance of the offense is out of sync. While running back Darren McFadden has done an excellent job catching the ball in space, the Raiders would benefit from letting him run between the tackles a little more and attempt to break a big one by winning the battles at the line of scrimmage rather than allowing the tacklers to see the play develop and swarm to him. McFadden averaged just 2.2 yards per carry on 11 runs against Miami a week ago, but production is something that will come with more consistency. The Oakland defense was torched for 452 total yards and 35 points by a Dolphins’ team that isn’t very good on offense, so Palmer and company should have their work cut out for them this week if they are going to keep pace.
NFL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
The Steelers rebounded nicely from a week one loss to knock off the Jets, and now have an excellent opportunity to parlay the momentum from that win to move to 2-0 on the year. Pittsburgh’s offense started to hit its marks after a slow start in the online sportsbook opener, and with the possibility of having both Polamalu and Harrison back in the lineup against a struggling Raiders’ team they should have a good chance to move to 2-1.NFL Betting Pick: Pittsburgh Steelers
