Texans Jets Betting Tips – Tebow Could Get His Chance On Monday Night Football Versus Texans
Heading in to their first primetime game of the season, it is only fitting that the cries for Tim Tebow to become the starting quarterback of the New York Jets have picked up. Coming off of a brutal 34-0-blowout loss against the San Francisco 49ers, fans sounded off this week on giving Tebow an opportunity to play this week ahead of Mark Sanchez after the latter completed just 13-of-29 passes for 103 yards. Jets’ head coach Rex Ryan remains committed to Sanchez as his quarterback, but another shaky performance this week against the Houston Texans at home could lead to Tebow finally getting his shot.

NFL Betting Line: Houston – 8
The Texans have had no such problems on either side of the ball, opening the season with four-straight wins for the first time in franchise history. Houston has looked very good on both offense and defense through the first quarter of the regular season, and will look to extend that strong start against the Jets regardless of whom they have under center.
NFL Betting Preview: Houston Texans
After years of relying on Andre Johnson and a talented offense to carry the load, this Texans’ team seems to have finally found the balance it needs to be a legitimate contender in the AFC South. Houston is averaging 31.5 points per game while limiting opponents to an AFC-best 14 points per game, and as long as that differential doesn’t fall too far the Texans will continue to win games. The running back tandem of Arian Foster and Ben Tate has been dominant so far, and helped keep quarterback Matt Schaub from taking too many shots. It has also helped Houston avoid making sloppy mistakes, as its turnover differential of plus-7 ranks second in the AFC.
NFL Betting Preview: New York Jets
The Jets haven’t had nearly as easy of a time moving the ball, and it won’t help that wide receiver Santonio Holmes is now out for the season. Holmes was one of the only true playmakers that New York was able to lean on offensively, and now that he is out the Jets could need to make a dramatic change to get a boost on that side. Already without All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis on the defensive side of the ball, gang green might have to look outside the organization to fill some holes. Of course, as long as this team is struggling there will be calls for Tebow, especially considering that not other quarterback has a higher percentage of passes fall incomplete due to being off-target than Sanchez this sports betting season.
NFL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
Considering all that the Jets are dealing with this season and how good the Texans have been, this online sportsbook number does seem kind of low. Then again it is Monday Night Football, the Jets are at home, and this could be the game that Tebow finally gets his opportunity to show what he can do under center so it is probably a good thing it is not at double-digits. Houston will win this game soundly, but things could get interesting late if Tebow gets his chance.
