Tips For Betting On Bears Packers – Packers Set For Second NFC Showdown In Four Days Versus Bears Thursday
The Green Bay Packers lost to the San Francisco 49ers in a battle of NFC contender’s week one. Four days later, Green Bay will host the Chicago Bears in another key NFC showdown that will help set the tone for this season. The Packers trailed by as many as 16 points before a late comeback fell short in a 30-22 loss to San Francisco, with one of the league’s most powerful offenses struggling to get going and a defense that was expected to be improved giving up 377 yards of total offense. There isn’t much time for Green Bay to address everything that went wrong in that week one loss, and it won’t get any easier this week against a Chicago team that has something to prove.

NFL Betting Line: Green Bay Packers – 5
The Bears were a popular pick to go over their sports betting win total line heading in to the season and a strong performance in a 41-21 week one win over the Indianapolis Colts was a very good start. Chicago lost both of its games against the Packers by double-digit deficits a year ago, but have an excellent chance to make sure that won’t happen again this season.
NFL Betting Preview: Chicago Bears
A shaky start didn’t change anything in the Bears’ game plan week one, and they fought back from an early Jay Cutler interception that was returned for a touchdown to outscore the Colts 41-14 the rest of the way. Cutler finished with 333 yards passing and two touchdowns, hooking up with Brandon Marshall for nine receptions, 119 yards, and a score. Cutler will look for Marshall again this week but the best plan of attack could be through the ground game. Running backs Matt Forte and Michael Bush ran for 122 yards and three touchdowns against Indianapolis and the Packers could not stop the 49ers’ rushing attack last week, yielding 186 yards on the ground.
NFL Betting Preview: Green Bay Packers
Green Bay’s inability to stop the run should be its main concern, as San Francisco was able to pound the rock again and again even when it was clear that a rush was coming. The Packers actually gave up more yards on the ground than they did through the air, and addressing the issues up front should be a priority. Green Bay’s offense was smothered from the opening snap and reigning NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers was sacked three times and threw one brutal interception that led to the game-clinching touchdown. While the stat line looked bad it could have been much worse if the 49ers were able to capitalize on a couple more interception opportunities. The Packers will need to do a better job of protecting Rodgers, but it will also be on him to make better decisions in the pocket.
NFL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
The fact that the online sportsbook line for this game favors Green Bay by five is proof the bookies feel the Packers’ week one performance was more of an aberration than an indication of what to expect from the team this season. Either way, the Packers appear to have a lot of work to do in order to improve on both sides of the ball, and not much time to do it. The Bears come to town riding the high of a season-opening win in which nearly everything went right, and should have the motivation and urgency to get the job done in an important NFC South showdown.NFL Betting Pick: Chicago Bears
