Tips For Betting On Panthers Falcons – Falcons Look To Soar Past Panthers In NFC South Showdown
When the Atlanta Falcons made the trip to the west coast on short rest to face another 2-0 team in the San Diego Chargers, the majority of sports betting experts predicted it would be a close and hard-fought test to remain undefeated. However, Matt Ryan threw for 275 yards and three touchdowns and Michael Turner rushed for 80 more and another score as the Falcons danced around San Diego to improve to 3-0 with a 27-3 win. Nobody is sleeping on Atlanta any more as they head home for an important NFC South battle against the Carolina Panthers this week, as another win would give them a commanding lead in the division.

NFL Betting Line: Atlanta Falcons – 7.5
The Panthers’ loss to the New York Giants last Thursday in addition to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints losing has the rest of the NFC South a combined 2-7 through three weeks. There is a strong chance Atlanta could lead the division by three games win a win over Carolina, and at that point it could be hard for anyone to catch them.
NFL Betting Preview: Carolina Panthers
A disheartening loss to the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants in a game the Panthers were favored to win caused a lot of emotions last Thursday, and forced Steve Smith to confront his quarterback Cam Newton about maturity and the will to lead. Newton threw three interceptions and was sacked twice in the loss, but he seemed to pass a lot of the blame on to his teammates following the game, and was very down about the loss altogether. Fortunately for Carolina, an extra three days off will give them lots of time to pull things back together and get back on track. Unfortunately though, the Panthers were dominated in nearly every aspect of their loss to New York, and they won’t have enough time to correct all of those mistakes before heading to Atlanta.
NFL Betting Preview: Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons will use the Giants’ performance at Carolina as their blueprint for a win, making time of possession a priority and frustrating Newton by keeping the ball out of his hands. Atlanta has scored at least 27 points in each of its first three wins, with Ryan leading the NFL in quarterback rating after throwing for 793 yards and eight touchdowns. Ryan has a premier group of receivers in Julio Jones, Roddy White, and tight end Tony Gonzalez, and has been able to spread the ball around as opposing defenses look to take away his options. One of the underrated aspects of this Falcons’ team is a defense that held a talented San Diego offense to just 164 passing yards and forced two interceptions. Containing Newton will be the key for the Atlanta defense in this game, and if they can find a way to get pressure on him it could lead to more turnovers.
NFL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
While it is still just three weeks in to the season, online sportsbook fans have been impressed with what they have seen from Ryan and this Falcons’ team from day one, and there is no reason to think they will slow down in a home game against a division rival. The 7.5-point spread is high, but considering the way that the Panthers were bullied around last week and the lack of mental toughness they showed against the Giants, it’s easy to think a couple of early scores for Atlanta could lead to another breakdown.NFL Betting Pick: Atlanta Falcons
