NFL Football Betting: Week 12 Preview
Thanksgiving takes a couple of games away from the weekend but what can you do. It is not the holiday’s fault that the Monday Nighter is so unpalatable. Here is a look at the best, and or only games in each time slot this Sunday and Monday.
Sunday November 29
Minnesota Vikings vs. Atlanta Falcons
Both of these teams have probably overperformed and are in the hunt in the NFC. The Vikings look like they are in a dogfight in their division but the Falcons might not be able to hope for much more than a Wild Card. I am still not quite sure what to make of either team. Atlanta has Julio Jones and Minnesota had Adrian Peterson. Two superlative players but the surrounding casts are questionable. Minnesota seems to have a reliable defense, this would be a good spot for it to show up. Take the Vikings plus the points.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks have some work to do if they want to make the playoffs - right now they would be out. This has been an interesting season to say the least and they have not played at home like we have seen the past few seasons otherwise this one would be close a touchdown. Pittsburgh has to be pretty happy with their current positioning. It sucks for them to not have a weapon like Le'Veon Bell at their disposal but it has been proven time and time again that Big Ben is the much more critical factor. Look for both defenses to be sharp and once again take the road team plus the points.
New England Patriots vs. Denver Broncos
Still a lot going on for this one even if it isn’t Brady vs. Manning. An undefeated team against one of the best defenses in the league presents enough of a storyline to get my attention. A few weeks back the Broncos made life very difficult for Aaron Rodgers and if they can do so against Brady and, Manning or no, we should have a pretty good ballgame Sunday Night. I am not sure what I think about Denver’s chances with Brock Osweiler long term, but with that defense backing him up I think you can go with the home side plus the points.
Monday November 30
Baltimore Ravens vs Cleveland Browns
I thought there were mechanisms in place to avoid crap MNF matchups like this in the latter part of the season. This one looks like a real stinker. Joe Flacco is out for the season and the story on the Cleveland side is that Johnny Manziel has been demoted for partying too much. What happened to the good old days when you got demoted for not being any good. Anything that could go wrong has gone wrong for the Ravens this season. By my estimation they have now lost their top three players for the season. Yet the line is saying on a neutral field they would be favoured. I am not buying it. Take the Browns.
