NFL Football Betting: Week 6 Preview
We are now just past the first quarter of the season...it goes by fast, doesn't it? At this point we have a pretty good idea of who is good and who is bad. It’s all those teams in the middle that gave us guessing now.
Sunday October 18
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Buffalo Bills
Both of these teams are coming off emotional wins last week. The home team survived a scare last week at Tennessee making what should have been an easy game quite difficult. They will take it though. The same goes for the Bengals who needed a furious comeback against Seattle to win in overtime. Their fourth quarter might have been the best performance by any team this year.
Prediction: I really like this Bengals team. Their offense is loaded and their defense can continue to get better. I really like them on the road against an unpredictable Bills team. Take Cincy.
Arizona Cardinals vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers were the big winners on Monday night, scoring late to take the game. They are going to have a tough time against Arizona though, which is pretty tight in all facets of the game this season. Big Ben is still out for this one which means the Cards might have the more potent offense. Carson Palmer is looking really good this year.
Prediction: Arizona definitely has the advantage on defense, with a strong secondary to force Michael Vick into some poor throws. My bet is that they pick him off at least once and use that to cover. Take Arizona.
New England Patriots vs. Indianapolis Colts
This game was bound to get a lot attention after DeflateGate. It was also supposed to be matchup of AFC contenders but the Colts are not holding up their end of the bargain. New England is undefeated and looking like they have a good chance to repeat as champs. I still don't like their defense but that might be nitpicking as it is holding up. The Colts need to still prove they can beat the good teams in the league.
Prediction: Andrew Luck is probable for this one but I would wait until game time to be sure. With him I like them in the underdog role but the key is that half point. With it you can back the Colts who I expect to backdoor this one. Without it or without Luck take a pass.
Monday October 19
New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles
As it turns out the streaking Giants are in first place in the NFC East right now. That won’t last long though if they don’t win this week as the rest of the division is breathing down their neck. I am not sure there is a best team in this group. Philadelphia has looked terrible at times but not last week when they beat New Orleans. The problem is it was against New Orleans and everyone is beating up those guys this season.
Prediction: I feel like the oddmakers are telling you to bet the Giants with that number and I am taking the bait. Look for New York to be able to score against Philly. They might not be able to slow them too much but I am not concerned as long as you are getting 3.5 points or better .
