NFL Football Betting: Week 7 Preview
The NFL season keeps clicking along. This weekend the prime time games are far from great, thanks to the struggles of Baltimore and lack of sizzle with Philly and Carolina. That doesn’t mean there isn’t money to be made, it just means you might want to bet it and forget it instead of tuning in. Here are those and some other games to consider.
Sunday October 25
Minnesota Vikings vs. Detroit Lions
Minnesota will look to advance their playoff cause by beating the Lions for the second time this season. Detroit is a mess but they are at home and got the monkey off their back with a win last week. I am not sure they are good enough to go for two in a row, though as a home dog they are very inviting. Take the Lions.
New York Jets vs. New England Patriots
New England -9
The Pats are undefeated and leading the NFL in points per game. I like the way the Jets matchup with them though and this is a big game given the Jets are just one game behind them at 4-1. The hard part is going to be slowing Brady down. They have to because trading scores with New England is going to be too much for this team. I think this one gets away from them late. Take the Pats.
Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants
New York -3.5
Thanks to the Giants loss to Philadelphia last week things got ever more bunchy in the NFL East. Dallas is still not at full strength but if they muster a win they could finish the week in first place. The Giants will look to get back on the winning track and exact a little revenge from an embarrassing first week defeat. Tease this one down to three points and then fire away with the G-Men.
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Carolina Panthers
After beating the Giants last week the Eagles are now tied with New York for first place in the NFC East. They are still far from a perfect team but being in that position with 10 games to play is not a terrible start. This week they are on the road at Carolina, a winnable game because the Panthers offense is not much more than Cam Newton these days. Take the Eagles plus the points on the road.
Baltimore Ravens vs. Arizona Cardinals
The Cards were surprise losers at Pittsburgh last weekend. This week they are at home on Monday night, favoured against a Ravens team that is essentially out of the race before midseason. Arizona is good but I am just not sure how bad Baltimore is. They can’t be this bad, can they? As long as this line stays where it is think about backing the Ravens. There is still a fair amount of pride and talent over there.
