After a summer of successful Pay Per Views, the Ultimate Fighting Championships opened the NFL betting month of September with the launch of their newest Ultimate Fighter reality series, a Fight Night event, and now UFC: 119, live from Indianapolis. The event was scheduled to feature a heavyweight main event between Frank Mir and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, but after the Brazilian was forced out of the battle because of a recurring hip injury, the UFC asked Mirko Crop Cop to step in. Now, two of the most well known heavyweights in the sport will clash on a card that will also feature Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, Matt Serra, and Sean Sherk.

  • UFC 119: Mir vs Cro Cop
  • Saturday September 18, 2010 – 7:00 PM ET
  • Conseco Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, Indiana
  • Main Card Betting Preview

Frank Mir (13-5-0) vs Mirko Crop Cop (27-7-2)

Despite admitting that he will not be 100-percent by the time September 18 arrives, Mirko Cro Cop will step in to the octagon for main event at UFC: 119. Crop Cop said that he took the match to please the fans and support the promotion, but the fact that it’s been just three months since he took Pat Berry out with a rear naked choke hold could be cause for concern when these two hook up. Frank Mir hasn’t fought since his first round knock out loss to Shane Carwin at UFC: 111 for the interim heavyweight title, and is looking to re-establish his self as a potential contender for Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar’s belt. Mir has lost two of his last three bouts, but has beaten Cheick Kongo, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, and Lesnar in the last two years, and his losses were to potentially the top two fighters in the class worldwide.

Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (19-3-0) vs Ryan Bader (11-0-0)

Seven straight wins has Antonio Rogerio Nogueira looking like a contender once again in the UFC Light Heavyweight division. Nogueira will step in to the octagon this Saturday against The Ultimate Fighter 8 winner Ryan Bader, who is undefeated in his professional mixed martial arts career. Bader needed three rounds to knock out Keith Jardine in his last contest back in February, making it five UFC betting wins via knock out, three by submission, and three more that went to decision.

Matt Serra (11-6-0) vs Chris Lytle (29-17-5)

The only welterweight bout on the contest will feature Matt Serra and Chris Lytle, who has won three contests in a row, including his last two via submission. Serra rebounded from consecutive losses to earn knock out of the night honors at UFC: 109 when he knocked out Frank Trigg.

Sean Sherk (33-4-1) vs Evan Dunham (11-0-0)

After falling to Frankie Edgar at UFC: 98, Sean Sherk will get his shot against Evan Dunham, who has won 11 straight fights to open his professional career.

Melvin Guillard (24-8-2) vs Jeremy Stephens (18-5-0)

Jeremy Stephens and Melvin Guillard have both won consecutive sports betting fights, but something has got to give when these two lightweights connect at UFC: 119.
