UFC 126 Betting – Jon Jones Leads Solid Undercard In Las Vegas

ufc 126 betting

Sports betting players waiting for the UFC 126 main events on February 5th in Las Vegas will be treated to a very good undercard, highlighted by two up-and-coming contenders in the light-heavyweight division. There is also a very intriguing matchup in the welterweight division, and finally, the UFC will hold its first-ever bantamweight bout on a pay-per-view card.

Jon “Bones” Jones (11-1, seven KOs) vs. Ryan “Darth” Bader (12-0, five KOs)

Jones is a massive -400 favorite in this light-heavyweight contest against Bader, and this could end up being the Fight of the Night because these are two young, rising prospects who are as exciting as it gets. Jones is being talked up as the next superstar in the 205-pound division, as he has seven knockouts, and his lone loss was disqualification for using illegal elbows against Matt Hamill. Bader is a product of “The Ultimate Fighter 8”, and while he has knockout power, he also is versed in the ways of submission moves. This should be an interesting contest if it goes to the mat as both have backgrounds in wrestling, and Bader may have the edge there as he was college teammates with heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez and C.B. Dollaway at Arizona State. But Bader’s main concern is staying away from Jones’ elbows, some of the most lethal limbs in the UFC, and if he gets caught, it’s over. We think Jones will be able to handle himself on the mat far better than Bader’s last opponent, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, but Jones’ striking will make the difference in an exciting win for the 23-year-old. Go with the favored Jon Jones.

Jake “The Juggernaut” Ellenberger (23-5, 15 KOs) vs. Carlos Eduardo “Ta Danado” Rocha (9-0, one KO)

Ellenberger is a -350 UFC betting favorite in this welterweight matchup against Rocha in this interesting battle of contrasting styles. Ellenberger has a background in wrestling, but he isn’t afraid to let his hands go as proven by his 15 knockouts. Rocha is a submission master who has made eight of his opponents tap out, and he ended his debut at UFC 122 in the first round against Kris McCray. Only one of Ellenberger’s five losses have come by submission, and we think he’ll be able to handle himself on the ground, at least enough to not get himself in dangerous positions, although he’s never faced a submission artist of Rocha’s ability before. Ellenberger will do everything he can to keep this fight standing up, but like we said, he is active enough on the ground to keep Rocha at bay. We’re taking Ellenberger in a closer fight than people think.

Miguel Torres (38-3, nine KOs) vs. Antonio Banduelos (18-6, seven KOs)

Torres is a -400 UFC betting favorite in the first bantamweight (which is a maximum of 135 pounds) pay-per-view tilt in the company’s history, and again, these fighters are going to try and impose their style on each other. Torres, the former WEC bantamweight champion, has 23 submissions in his career, and he won Submission of the Night in his last WEC fight against Charlie Valencia. Banduelos holds the record for fights in the WEC with 14, but he never got a chance to fight Torres for the belt. He has some knockout power, but he’s a decision fighter, racking up 10 of them in his career. Banduelos has been caught by a couple of submissions, although they were early in his career, and you know Torres has been studying to try and see where he makes his mistakes. Torres has been a highly successful fighter who doesn’t make many mistakes, but he has dropped two of his last three fights. We think the motivation of Banduelos not getting a chance to fight Torres for the WEC belt will be enough to spark him to a big upset in this online betting matchup.
