Argentina Germany Betting – Top Powers Meet In Elite Eight of World Cup

It has been repeated for centuries that fortune favors the bold, and in the case of two of the highest ranked teams to make it to the quarterfinal round in the 2010 World Cup betting tournament, that saying resounds. Despite boasting two of the strongest sides at this year’s World Cup, both Germany and Argentina advanced to the elite eight with controversial victories. For the Germans, an England marker that was denied when officials could not confirm that the ball had crossed the goal line allowed the European juggernauts to maintain a 2-1 advantage, which they would parlay in to two more goals for the 4-1 win. For Argentina, an opening tally against Mexico that clearly should have been called for offside gave Diego Maradona’s side a lead they would never relinquish as they prevailed 3-0 to set up this showdown.

Team Argentina: Betting Preview

Following a pair of goals in Argentina’s win over Mexico in the round of 16, Carlos Tevez is finally beginning to get the recognition that for a player of his caliber is far overdue. Along with 2009 World Football Player of the Year Lionel Messi and Gonzalo Higuain, Maradona’s men are undoubtedly one of the most dangerous offensive teams in the tournament, as highlighted by their 10 goals scored in four matches thus far. Where they must be better as defending it’s own goal, where despite allowing only a single goal through four matches, Argentina has shown signs of vulnerability against teams that simply failed to capitalize on their opportunities, surely a betting trend that Germany will not continue.

Team Germany – Betting Preview

Similar to Argentina in that they are much stronger with the ball than without, Germany’s defense remains their weakness leading in to the quarterfinals. An English strike that hit the cross bar and landed behind the goal line was not called a goal because the ball bounced outward and the officials could not confirm the ball went in. It wasn’t long after that Frank Lampard sent a strike of his own rocking off the cross bar out, and should fate have favored the Three Lions club, it would be England preparing for Argentina right now. Miroslav Klose has been solid once again for Germany, while the creativity and pace of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Mesut Ozil had provided the striker with plenty of opportunities, which has helped Germany mask its World Cup weaknesses to date.

Who To Bet On?

With both teams favoring an aggressive, offensive minded attack to cover their deficiencies at the back end, this game could come down to which team can score more goals. The four-goal explosion against England is proof of just how powerful the German attack can be, however they have yet to face a soccer betting side that plays such a similar style, or that has so much speed and creativity.
